Does your gas pedal stick?
The feeling I get from fixing my own car is euphoric. Knowing I have saved hundreds of dollars and a headache is so satisfying. Well I want to share this quick fix to a common problem with all older cars. If your gas pedal sticks initially, from a stop, when you try to depress it, you have a gunk problem. There is a butterfly valve in the air intake of the engine where carbon goo is built up. What you need for the fix is a flathead screwdriver, rag/toothbrush and a bottle of carburetor cleaner (about $2.89). You just spray some carb cleaner on the valve and go at it with the rag/toothbrush. I did not have the smoke problem found here.
